Braunschweig - Two goals from Rouwen Hennings took Karlrsuher SC into contention for a place in the Bundesliga next season thanks to a 2-0 win at Eintracht Braunschweig.

Neither side would really have benefitted from a draw, but the early exchanges were dominated by the apparent fear on of putting a foot wrong and coming away beaten. There were only a handful of half-chances before Hennings put the guests in front out of nothing with his shot beating the attempt by Rafal Gikiewicz to keep it out.

The hosts inevitably had to throw everything forward in the second half, and the tensions rose with Ken Reichel and Dominic Peitz both sent for an early bath. Minutes later, Hennings ended any doubt over Karlsruhe's win with a low shot inside the near post to lift the Baden-Württemberg club to third and end Braunschweig's own promotion hopes.
