Heidenheim - 1. FC Heidenheim all but mathematically wrapped up their place in Bundesliga 2 next season thanks to a convincing 3-0 win over relegation-threatened Greuther Fürth, who ended with only ten men.

Tim Göhlert gave Heidenheim a 25th-minute lead, tucking the ball in from close range after Mathias Wittek's effort was blocked on the line by Robert Zulj. Philip Heise added a second just before half-time with Marc Schnatterer drawing three defenders to him before teeing up his team-mate to slot home.

Things went from bad to worse for the visitors early in the second half when Zulj was shown a straight red card for a foul on Robert Leipertz inside the penalty area. Schnatterer dispatched the spot-kick to finish Fürth off and take Heidenheim six points clear of the drop zone with two games left, and with a far superior goal difference.
