Leipzig - SV Sandhausen ended any lingering promotion hopes RB Leipzig might have had with a spectacular 4-0 win away from home on Matchday 32.

Marco Thiede set the tone for the game as far as Sandhausen were concerned with a fine volley which Benjamin Bellot did well to keep out. He was beaten by Thiede's next shot, though, as the Sandhausen forward gave the guests a deserved half-time advantage.

Aziz Bouhaddouz then stepped forward to destroy Leipzig single-handedly with a second-half hat-trick, all three goals coming in the space of 20 minutes. Thiede set up his first, with his effort bouncing back off the post for his strike partner to tuck away. Bouhaddouz then showed his predatory instinct to put the result beyond doubt with Sandhausen's goals three and four, condemning Leipzig to another season in Bundesliga 2 while sealing their own place in Germany's second tier with them next term.
