Hamburg - FC St. Pauli climbed out of the Bundesliga 2 relegation zone with a 1-0 victory over RB Leipzig, whose promotion hopes are all but over.

There were chances at both ends in a lively first half, but the hosts eventually took the lead on the stroke of half time when Lennart Thy latched onto a long ball forward and slid the ball past Leipzig keeper Fabio Coltorti. The visitors, who went into the game six points off the top three, improved after the restart but were unable to find a way through a resilient home defence. In the end, St. Pauli held on with relative ease to move above FC Erzgebirge Aue, TSV 1860 Munich and VfR Aalen in the table.
