Sandhausen - Neither SV Sandhausen nor 1. FC Heidenheim were able to secure the win that would have ensured their Bundesliga 2 status for another season, but both are now all but safe following a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon.

There was very little by way of goalmouth action in a disjointed first half, but the game sparked into life after the break when Florian Niederlechner put the visitors ahead in the 54th minute.

Three more goals then fell in the space of ten minutes as Sandhausen first restored parity through Aziz Bouhaddouz, only for Niederlechner to find the target again moments later. The hosts showed great morale to fight back for a second time and earned a deserved draw when Ranisav Jovanovic struck, leaving Sandhausen seven points clear of the relegation zone and their visitors a point better off.
