Braunschweig - Emil Berggreen scored twice as Eintracht Braunschweig battled to a 2-0 win over FSV Frankfurt 1899.

Frankfurt started brightly as Vincenzo Grifo tested the reflexes of Braunschweig goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz from a free kick. The Italian then teed up Mario Engels, who was unable to find the target from ten yards. FSV’s Patric Klandt was forced into action to keep out an effort from Jan Hochscheidt, but it was Frankfurt who ended the half the stronger, with Saulo Decarli clearing off the line from Grifo after a mistake by Gikiewicz.

The Lions were unrecognisable at the start of the second period as Klandt denied Ken Reichel, with the deadlock eventually being broken courtesy of Berggreen's clinical first touch. The Dane then made it two ten minutes later to rubberstamp a win that keeps Torsten Lieberknecht’s side right in the thick of things towards the top of the standings, only three points behind the promotion play-off spot in fifth.
