Fürth - Johannes Wurtz grabbed what could prove to be a crucial late equaliser as Greuther Fürth salvaged a point in a 2-2 draw at home to 1. FC Union Berlin.

Union gained the lead in the eighth minute when Maximilian Thiel struck his shot into the roof of the net from close range. It took the hosts 20 minutes to respond, but they did so with gusto, creating numerous chances to level before half-time.

They were rewarded early in the second half when Sebastian Freis brought them level, but Michael Parensen restored Union's lead against the run of play with just over ten minutes left. A final assault brought an equaliser, though, with Wurtz heading in at the death to keep Fürth three rather than two points clear of the drop zone.
