Aue - Rico Benatelli scored within seconds of being brought on as a substitute as FC Erzgebirge Aue climbed off the foot of the table with a 1-0 win over FSV Frankfurt.

Neither side managed to fashion a breakthrough in a goalless first half, but the game sprang into life after 58 minutes when Aue head coach Tommy Stipics introduced Benatelli, who got on the end of a teasing cross to head the hosts in front 30 seconds after entering the fray. Frankfurt dominated possession in the final 20 minutes as they searched for a late equaliser, but failed to trouble Martin Männel in the Aue goal. The win lifts Aue above VfR Aalen into 17th place, while Frankfurt remain in 12th.
