Ingolstadt - Bundesliga 2 leaders FC Ingolstadt 04 twice came from behind to secure a 3-2 win in a breathtaking encounter against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The home side were gifted an opportunity to open the scoring when a penalty was awarded for Adam Bodzek's challenge on Stefan Lex, a professional foul for which the Fortuna captain was also sent off. Düsseldorf keeper Michael Rensing saved Alfredo Morales’ spot-kick, however, and Joel Pohjanpalo capitalised by calmly putting the away side ahead shortly after.

Moritz Hartmann’s found the corner to even things up after the restart, only for Ihlas Bebou to restore the Rhinelanders’ lead. Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men were to have the last laugh, however, as headed efforts from Mathew Leckie and Marvin Matip - the latter six minutes into injury time - ensured the Bavarians took another huge step to promotion to next season’s top flight.
