Sandhausen - Karlsruher SC missed an opportunity to move up to second in Bundesliga 2 on Friday night after being held to a goalless draw at SV Sandhausen.

Andrew Wooten looked lively for the home side in the opening stages, but in truth few chances were created in a lethargic 45 minutes, with KSC's main attacking weapon Rouwen Hennings hardly in the game.

After the restart, however, Sandhausen created several openings to win the game, and they should have done late on, with Wooten drawing a fine reflex save out of Dirk Orlishausen and then heading over the bar. The home side's status in Bundesliga 2 is likely now secure for another season, but Karlsruher will be disappointed at failing to underline their promotion ambitions.
