Munich - FC Erzgebirge Aue climbed out of the automatic relegation places and to within one point of 15th-placed TSV 1860 Munich after beating the Lions 1-0 at the Allianz Arena.

1860 had been in good form of late, losing only one of their previous six under interim head coach Torsten Fröhling, but they were caught cold by their Saxon visitors. Despite a bright start to the game, the home side succumbed to a sixth-minute strike from Romario Kortzog, who drilled low into the corner from just inside the box following a quick breakaway.

Stefan Mugosa should have doubled Aue's lead, only to hesitate when in on goal and subsequently fail to hit the target, but the Bavarians were unable to make the most of the reprieve, despite largely controlling proceedings in the second half. They remain just a point above the relegation play-off place, now occupied by Aue.
