Ingolstadt - FC Ingolstadt 04 re-established a three-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga 2 table after a routine 2-0 win over FSV Frankfurt.

The pressure was on the hosts following Saturday’s victory for 1. FC Kaiserslautern that took the Red Devils level on points with Ingolstadt, but the Bavarians dominated against their guests from near enough start to finish. Rarely tested at the back, the home side took the lead midway through the first half when Benjamin Hübner powered in a header from a corner.

In the second period the game lacked quality and chances were at a premium, but Lukas Hinterseer effectively settled the contest just before the hour-mark, collecting Alfredo Morales’ pass and skipping around the goalkeeper to lash into the net. With seven games left, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men remain in the driving seat for the title and automatic promotion, while FSV stay in mid-table.
