Munich - Strugglers TSV 1860 Munich and VfR Aalen picked up a point apiece in the relegation battle after a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena.

In an intense opening 45 minutes, both sides spurned opportunities to take the lead. The best fell to Aalen attacker Andreas Hofmann in the ninth minute, but his shot was deflected over by Vitus Eicher. At the other end, Daniel Adlung and Jannik Bandowski also wasted efforts to take advantage of their side's dominance, as the deadlock remained intact at the break.

The visitors emerged strongly for the second period, and were rewarded for their confident approach when Collin Quaner finished calmly at the back post in the 59th minute. The goal encouraged the Lions to throw caution to the wind, and after Adlung came close, Spanish striker Rodri nodded home his first goal of the season from Korbinian Vollmann's cross with 15 minutes remaining. The hosts pushed for a late winner, but, ultimately, the sides were forced to share the spoils.
