Leipzig - RB Leipzig kept their slim promotion chances alive courtesy of a convincing 3-1 victory at home to Fortuna Düsseldorf in Matchday 25's curtain closer.

The hosts were in charge from the off in Lower Saxony, dictating both rhythm and tempo against a deep-lying Düsseldorf side. Achim Beierlorzer's men saw their dominance pay off after eight minutes, Rodnei slotting in from short range, before FC Bayern München-bound midfielder Joshua Kimmich doubled Leipzig's advantage with a fine finish from inside the area.

The home side remained in the driving seat after the break, continuously passing their way towards the Fortuna goal. Joel Pohjanpalo pulled one back for the guests just past the hour-mark on one of their few forays forward, but Yussuf Poulsen's quick response sealed the points for Leipzig, the promoted side moving above their opponents and into fifth in the standings.
