Karlsruhe - Karlsruher SC missed the chance to move up to second in the Bundesliga 2 standings after being held to a goalless draw by ten-man RB Leipzig.

The home side laid siege to the Leipzig goal in the first half, with Manuel Gulde narrowly missing the target after a mix-up between Fabio Coltorti and Marvin Compper. Boubacar Barry and Daniel Gordon went closer still, before Leipzig had Compper sent off for a professional foul on Hiroki Yamada.

It was one-way traffic, but Coltorti was in determined mood between the Leipzig sticks, denying Gordon, Rouwen Hennings and Gulde late in the first half. Yamada struck the woodwork, before Joshua Kimmich finally brought a save from Karlsruher goalkeeper Dirk Orlishausen at the other end. Normal service was resumed shortly after, but there was simply no way past the impregnable Coltorti, who again did brilliantly to thwart Ilijan Micaski and Hennings at the death.
