Hamburg - Greuther Fürth eased their relegation fears with a 1-0 win at FC St. Pauli, who remain rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga 2 table.

The hosts thought they had won a penalty after 13 minutes when Waldemar Sobota's cross struck Benedikt Röcker on the arm, but the referee was overruled by his assistant after initially pointing to the spot. Fürth made the most of that let-off a quarter of an hour later as Stefan Thesker's cross was turned in by Kacper Przybylko.

John Verhoek squandered a good chance to equalise for Ewald Lienen's side, before Robert Zulj and Sebastian Freis both missed opportunities at the other end as Fürth looked to seal all three points. St. Pauli were unable to fashion a leveller, though, and remain stranded at the foot of the standings after a twelfth league defeat of the season, while Fürth leapfrog SV Sandhausen into 13th.
