Karlsruher - Karlsruher SC ensured they would remain in the Bundesliga 2 promotion reckoning over the winter break by hammering FSV Frankfurt 4-1 at the Wildparkstadion.

After their eight-game unbeaten streak had come to an abrupt end in Berlin on Matchday 18, Markus Kauczinski's side bounced back in the best possible way. After making all the early running, Rouwen Hennings gave the hosts a 16th-minute lead they would never relinquish with a fierce shot, while Reinhold Yabo added a second four minutes later after a breakaway.

Karlsruher hardly gave Frankfurt a sniff and the 51st minute brought Hennings' second and a three-goal lead, the German striker casually rounding Patric Klandt in the visitors' goal for a tap-in. Dimitrij Nazarov converted from the penalty spot to make it four with 25 minutes left, and Mohamed Aoudia's consolation header was insufficient to prevent KSC ending the year in the best possible way.
