Sandhausen - VfL Bochum were held to a 0-0 draw by SV Sandhausen in the Ruhr club's first match since former head coach Peter Neururer's departure.

Japanese midfielder Yusuke Tasaka nearly gave Bochum the lead with just over a quarter of an hour gone, but home keeper Manuel Riemann managed to get a hand to the 29-year-old's curling free-kick. The visitors remained in control and Sandhausen right-back Lukas Kübler was next to deny Tasaka, clearing his close-range effort off the line after 24 minutes.

Bochum will have been disappointed not to go into the break in the lead, but they nearly went behind six minutes into the second half when Manuel Stiefler's effort was expertly saved by Andreas Luthe, before Andrew Wooten somehow fired the rebound over the crossbar when he should at least have hit the target. The game petered out a little in the closing stages, with both sides forced to settle for a share of the spoils that keeps them safely in mid-table.
