Düsseldorf - SV Sandhausen scored three goals for the first time this season with a clinical 3-1 win away at promotion hopefuls Fortuna Düsseldorf.

After a quiet start to the game, Aziz Bouhaddouz opened the scoring with a goal from the top drawer, latching on to a loose ball and firing powerfully into the top corner. Düsseldorf were unflustered by the early setback and equalised with an effort that was arguably just as good, Australian international Ben Halloran clipping a first-time volleyed finish in off the post.

The hosts, fourth in the table before kick-off, dominated possession in the second period but were punished ruthlessly for their defensive mistakes, as Seyi Olajengbesi scrambled in to make it 2-1 and Bouhaddouz bagged his second following a counterattack. For Sandhausen the win was an emphatic response to last week's 3-0 humbling at 1. FC Heidenheim, but Fortuna lose valuable ground in the race for promotion.
