Ingolstadt - League leaders FC Ingolstadt bounced back from their maiden defeat of the season last week to overcome VfL Bochum 3-0 at home on Saturday.

Aware that three of their closest pursuers at the top of the table, Karlsruher SC, FC Heidenheim and Darmstadt 98, had all dropped points on Friday, Ingolstadt started strongly and immediately put their guests under pressure. They eventually broke the deadlock midway through the first half when a lovely Mathew Leckie backheel inside the area teed up Moritz Hartmann to rifle home the opener.

Bochum never managed to get a foothold in the game against an extremely focused Ingolstadt side, who doubled their advantage in the 66th minute when club top scorer Lukas Hinterseer scored following a corner. The result was never in any doubt from that point on, and Leckie capped a fine individual display by tucking in a late goal to ensure die Schanzer remain at the summit for another week.
