Düsseldorf - Second-placed Fortuna Düsseldorf missed the chance to go top of the Bundesliga 2 table after being held to a 3-3 draw in a thoroughly entertaining contest at the ESPRIT Arena.

A poor clearance by Fürth keeper Wolfgang Hesl gave Charlison Benschop a golden opportunity to give the hosts the lead with only ten minutes on the clock and the Dutchman made no mistake, firing into an empty net to send the home faithful into raptures. The hosts were ahead for only three minutes, however, as Niko Gießelmann headed home from close range to make it 1-1.

Robert Zulj's second goal of the season gave the visitors the lead soon after the restart and for a while it looked like the Franconians would hang on to all three points. Finnish striker Joel Pohjanpalo brought the hosts level with 13 minutes remaining, though, before Benschop grabbed his second of the match from the penalty spot after being felled by Fürth keeper Wolfgang Hesl in the area.

It was Fürth who had the last laugh, though, as Zulj doubled his personal tally with six minutes left to earn Frank Kramer's tenth-placed side a thoroughly-deserved point.
