Nuremberg - New 1. FC Nürnberg head coach Rene Weiler celebrated victory in his first game in charge as his side ran out 2-1 winners over league leaders FC Ingolstadt 04.

In front of a passionate home support, Weiler's new-look Nürnberg were a goal to the good within 16 minutes as Robert Koch headed home from Jakub Sylvester's cross. Nine minutes later, Sylvester himself got on the scoresheet, sending the home fans into dreamland with a left-foooted finish. Previously unbeaten Ingolstadt roused themselves in the second half, and when Javier Pinola was sent off for the hosts, they sensed an unlikely comeback. Moritz Hartmann scored to set up a grandstand finish, but Weiler's side held on to take all three points and jump to 11th in the standings.
