Frankfurt - Havard Nielsen made his return from injury in style as his first-ever Bundesliga 2 brace helped Eintracht Braunschweig clinch a fourth consecutive league win courtesy of a 3-0 victory on the road against FSV Frankfurt 1899.

The Norwegian striker scored the fastest goal of the current Bundesliga 2 campaign, bringing a long ball under his spell before squeezing an effort in from the tightest of angles with just 29 seconds of the clock. With Frankfurt offering little in terms of threat from open play, Seung-Woo Ryu wasted a golden opportunity one-on-on before Nielsen grabbed his second with a looping header on the stroke of half-time.

The hosts came out of the changing rooms intent on changing the course of proceedings and had Eintracht on the back foot early in the second half. However, a combination of Rafal Gikiewicz’s fine reflexes and some last-ditch defending from the visitors saw Frankfurt’s most promising moments fail to produce an end product. Instead it was substitute Mushaga Bakenga, who rounded out the scoring by side-footing home in the 87th minute to help the Lions close the gap on the promotion places.
