Heidenheim - 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 extended their winning streak to three thanks to a 3-0 victory at home to SV Sandhausen on Matchday 14.

Bundesliga 2's surprise package settled into their rhythm quickly, bossing proceedings from the off and carving out numerous chances at the Voith-Arena. Frank Schmidt’s men saw their dominance pay dividends as early as the sixth minute when in-form midfielder Marc Schnatterer coolly slotted in from inside the box for his seventh goal of the season.

Heidenheim remained in the driving seat against a stubborn Sandhausen side and they notched a second in the 48th minute, Robert Leipertz nodding home from close range. Three points were all but sealed shortly after the hour mark courtesy of Florian Niederlechner’s eighth goal this term, the result keeping the hosts well on track in the promotion race.
