Hamburg - 1. FC Heidenheim piled more misery on FC St. Pauli with a crushing 3-0 win at the Millerntor-Stadion, where the hosts have picked up ten of their 12 points this season.

Two goals in five minutes from Florian Niederlechner left Pauli with a mountain to climb after only half an hour. His first came after home custodian Philipp Tschauner only parried Marcel Titsch-Rivero's shot, while his second, minutes later, also came after a counter-attack as he finished off Marc Schnatterer's pass. Niederlechner then went close to his hat-trick just before half-time when his header struck the top of the crossbar.

The scoreline was harsh on Pauli, who had done most of the running, but it went from bad to worse for them early in the second half when Robert Leipertz benefitted from a deflection to Schnatterer's cross to beat the wrong-footed Tschauner. It was enough to kill Pauli off, take Heidenheim into the top five and leave their hosts languishing in 17th.
