Fürth - Vincenzo Grifo scored a hat-trick as bottom-of-the-table FSV Frankfurt climbed out of the relegation zone after clinching an emphatic 5-2 victory against Greuther Fürth at the Trolli Arena.

In a mistake-ridden first half, Goran Sukalo broke the deadlock for the home side only to see their lead last less than five minutes as Frankfurt took a 2-1 lead with a quickfire double courtesy of Grifo's inventive free-kick and a Tom Beugelsdijk tap-in. Sukalo's second scrappy finish of the night was then usurped by Grifo producing a strike right out of the top drawer, ensuring his side went in at the break a goal to the good.

There was little sign of a fightback from the hosts after the restart, as Zlatko Dedic engineered Frankfurt more breathing room, capitalising on a poor Benedikt Röcker back pass to add a fourth shortly before the hour-mark. Fürth midfielder Sukalo then picked up a straight red for a reckless challenge inside the area, which allowed Grifo to complete his hat-trick from the spot, earning FSV a much-needed victory.
