Sandhausen - Ingolstadt saw off the threat of Sandhausen to win 2-0 and record their second victory of the season.

On an upward spiral after a draw and a win in their last two games, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s Ingolstadt side took the game to their hosts from the off. Within seven minutes, Stefan Lex had powered through a gaping gap in the Sandhausen defence to finish coolly and give his side the lead. It was one they would never relinquish, as Pascal Groß, Roger and Alfredo Morales controlled the centre of midfield, creating chances for their front three of Lex, Mathew Leckie and Lukas Hinterseer.

The same pattern ensued after the restart and bang on the hour mark, Leckie teed up Hinterseer, whose first goal at this level gave his side a two-goal advantage. Sandhausen’s response was led by Rene Gartler and substitute Moritz Kuhn, who retained the ball well, but the threat of Leckie and Lex on the counter was ever-present, as proven when the latter made it 3-0 with ten minutes remaining.

The win ensures Ingolstadt remain unbeaten in second spot, while Sandhausen, who are yet to win, drop to 17th position.
