Frankfurt - FSV Frankfurt moved a significant step closer to retaining their Bundesliga 2 status with a dominant 3-1 victory over bottom club FC Energie Cottbus, a result that sends the visitors down to the third division.

A quick-fire first-half brace from forward Andrew Wooten set the hosts up for the crucial win, but Odise Roshi's dismissal moments later put the wind back in the guests' sails, affording them hope of a possible comeback. The mood of optimism lasted just six minutes however, when Cottbus' Charles Takyi was sent off for a second bookable offence. Eighteen-year-old Bundesliga 2 debutant Paul Röwer did pull a goal back for the lacklustre visitors, but a late Michael Görlitz strike put the result beyond all doubt.

With second-bottom Arminia Bielefeld travelling to SG Dynamo Dresden - who currently occupy the relegation play-off place - on the final day of the season, Cottbus are now unable to catch both teams in the table and will therefore be playing third-tier football next season.
