Kaiserslautern - 1. FC Kaiserslautern moved top of the Bundesliga 2 table with a 3-0 victory over fellow promotion hopefuls 1. FC Union Berlin at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion.

The visitors started brightly and almost took the lead after seven minutes when Benjamin Köhler crossed for Sören Brandy, but Tobias Sippel in the hosts' goal was able to tip the latter's header over the crossbar. Chris Löwe's free-kick just missed the target at the other end, yet Kaiserslautern were struggling to create many clear-cut opportunities against a well-organised Berlin defence. That all changed, however, when Baris Özbek was sent off for an elbow on Olivier Occean moments before the break.

It took Kaiserslautern just nine second-half minutes to make the most of their one-man advantage: Occean was able to get on the end of a free-kick from the left to give the hosts the lead. Kosta Runjaic's team kept the pressure up following the opener and doubled their advantage when Florian Dick was able to slot the ball past Haas. Substitute Enis Alushi then sealed victory with two minutes remaining to lift the hosts to the Bundesliga 2 summit.
