Hamburg - Goals from Jon Verhoek and Marc Rzatkowski gave FC St. Pauli a 2-1 victory over FSV Frankfurt in the Millerntor.

The opening goal came after a mere three minutes of action after Verhoek turned in right-back Kevin Schindler's cross cleverly at the near-post. Although Frankfurt came back strongly in the middle period of the first-half, they never seemed to recover after the early setback. The hosts always offered a threat, particularly through the effervescent Marc Rzatkowski, playing behind Verhoek.

Frenetic second period

Rzatkowski was rewarded for his excellence in the 58th minute, giving his side a 2-0 lead with a calm left-footed finish from just inside the box. Terrible defending from the hosts four minutes later led to Marcel Hastenberg scoring an own-goal, but any hopes of a Frankfurt revival were dashed by Nils Teixera's dismissal in the 89th minute.
