Dresden - SG Dynamo Dresden have appointed Olaf Janßen as their new head coach, with the 46-year-old signing a contract valid until 30 June 2015.

Janßen had been working as assistant coach for the Azerbaijan national team, but was recruited following the departure of Peter Pacult last month. Janßen will be officially presented in a press conference at 13:00 CET on Thursday and is subsequently expected to take charge of his first training session with his new charges.

"Calmer waters"

"I'm really looking forward to my new challenge at Dynamo Dresden," said Janßen. "My task is to steer the club into calmer waters in Bundesliga 2. I believe the team has great potential and as head coach I'd like to do my bit to help the club achieve sporting successes once more."
