Cologne - 1. FC Köln continued their charge up the Bundesliga 2 table, overhauling FC Erzgebirge Aue with a 4-1 home win.

Marcel Risse was on target twice for the Billy Goats with Yannik Gebhardt and Slawomir Peszko also contributing to a comfortable win. Taku Ishihara scored Aue’s consolation.

One-sided

Gebhardt got Köln off to a flyer with a goal after 67 seconds with a shot from the edge of the penalty area, and Risse got his first of the game less than ten minutes later as the hosts threatened to run riot. Peter Stöger’s men lloked dangerous each time they got forward, but Ishihara gave them food for thought, immediately reducing the arrears.

Risse restored Köln’s two-goal advantage before the break, with Peszko heading them 4-1 up early in the second half. With the result now beyond doubt, neither side made and serious attempts to change the scoreline,
with victory lifting the Billy Goats up to third, temporarily at least.
