The decision was made in the wake of the Saxon outfit's 3-0 defeat to FSV Frankfurt on Sunday, which condemned the club to their second home loss in three games.
Pacult had taken charge of the team on 18 December 2012, having also enjoyed a stint at the club between 2005 and 2008. He led the club to a 16th-placed finish last season, ending the campaign in the relegation play-off place.
Dresden ensured second-tier football for 2013/14 after a two-legged victory over VfL Osnabrück, but they began the immediate campaign by taking just two points from four games. Their next game is a trip to FC St Pauli on Matchday 5.
