Bochum - Florian Jungwirth's acrobatic strike gave VfL Bochum a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw against FC St Pauli.

Bochum made a bright start in Friday's evening game and deservedly went in front on 18 minutes when Heiko Butscher headed in after a corner from Japanese international Yusuke Tasaka wasn't cleared. Pauli had hardly been in the game, but to their credit, came straight back into the contest, with John Verhoek controlling a pass and firing coolly past the keeper into the top corner. Dutchman Verhoek then produced an even better finish to sensationally put the Hamburg club into the lead, latching onto a lofted pass and beating the keeper again, this time with a cheeky lob.

As the match wore on, Bochum began to create more and more chances and the Pauli goal lived a charmed life, with Richard Sukuta-Pasu firing inches wide of the post and then seeing an effort blocked on the line. There was nobody on the post minutes later though, as Jungwirth controlled a pass and smartly found the corner with a lopping overhead effort, ensuring the sides remain level on five points in the table.
