Kaiserslautern - FC St. Pauli punished any wandering 1. FC Kaiserlautern thoughts with a 2-1 win at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion.

The hosts clinched third spot last weekend and discovered a day previously that 1899 Hoffenheim will be their opponents in a play-off for promotion to the Bundesliga. With those two defining fixtures on the horizon, their focus appeared blunted against a St. Pauli side more relaxed and relieved after securing their Bundesliga 2 status last time out. Dennis Daube and Daniel Ginczek gave the visitors a deserved half-time lead and, although Erwin Hoffer pulled a goal back for the hosts, they held on to take the spoils.
