Dresden - SG Dynamo Dresden needed some shock therapy to spark them into life against relegated Jahn Regensburg, although a 3-1 victory ultimately proved insufficient to secure their Bundesliga 2 status without the need for a play-off.

Pavel Fort missed a first-half penalty for an extremely nervous-looking Dresden, who then fell behind to Koke’s goal at the start of the second period. That goal proved to be a blessing in disguise, however, as two quickfire strikes from Fort turned the game on its head. Cristian Fiel added a third form the penalty spot, while Francky Sembolo missed a penalty at the other end, but it was all in vain as FC Erzgebirge Aue’s win over SV Sandhausen 1916 kept them ahead of Dresden on goal difference, leaving Peter Pacult’s side with a play-off to preserve their Bundesliga 2 status.
