Ingolstadt - It was a case of too little too late for 1. FC Köln as a 3-0 win at FC Ingolstadt 04 left them with more regrets than joy as coach Holger Stanislawski bid the club farewell.

Köln had already lost their battle with 1. FC Kaiserslautern for a place in the promotion play-off but still wanted to bring a positive end to the season in Stanislawski’s last game before leaving. They obliged with three goals in the second half from Daniel Royer, Bruno Nascimento and an Anthony Ujah penalty, but despite the healthy winning margin the Billy Goats were left wondering what might have been had they turned on the style when it mattered.
