Frankfurt - Both FSV Frankfurt and VfL Bochum were celebrating at the end of a 2-1 win for the home side as the visitors secured their second-tier status for another season.

Marcel Gaus gave the hosts the lead midway through the first half and Frankfurt continued to create chances with the Bochum defence struggling to cope. However, substitute Faton Toski relieved the pressure with an equaliser early in the second half, but the Bochum fell behind again when John Verhoek converted Edmond Kappllani’s pass to clinch it for FSV. In spite of the defeat, Peter Neururer’s men were able to celebrate survival with SG Dynamo Dresden and FC Erzgebirge Aue both losing their matches, leaving the Ruhr club four points clear of the dropzone with one game of the season to go.
