Paderborn - Mahir Saglik and Elias Kachunga earned SC Paderborn’s caretaker-coach Rene Müller a debut win and sealed the East Westphalian club’s Bundesliga 2 status with a 2-0 win over 1860 Munich.

Müller replaced Stephan Schmidt on Tuesday and the change in command brought the desired reaction with Paderborn taking the the lead when Saglik left Gabor Kiraly no chance to put Paderborn in front with just four minutes gone. 1860 responded well, but a red card for Moritz Volz just shy of the hour mark left them with an uphill struggle. Paderborn took full advantage with a second goal through Kachunga's header and might have won by more but for efforts from Philipp Hofmann and Deniz Yilmaz coming back off the goal frame.
