Berlin - MSV Duisburg go into their final game of the season knowing they are assured of their place in Bundesliga 2 for another year despite going down 2-1 at 1. FC Union Berlin.

With FC Erzgebirge Aue and SG Dynamo Dresden also both losing, Duisburg's 40-point tally leaves them six points clear of the relegation play-off place, as well as six behind their hosts in the capital. After a fairly entertaining but goalless first half, Kevin Wolze fired MSV in front with a fine curled effort into the top corner in the 48th minute. Union's response came 11 minutes later, Christopher Quiring nodding home at the far post and die Eisernen were eventually rewarded for their second-half endeavours when skipper Torsten Mattuschka converted from the spot in the 81st minute after Branimir Bajic had hauled down Quiring inside the box.
