Munich - In a similar vein to Friday evening, the drama continued in the Saturday instalments of matchday four in Bundesliga 2. Eintracht Braunschweig made it four wins out of four by defeating newly-promoted VfR Aalen, while FC. St Pauli secured a tight win over SV Sandhausen.

VfR Aalen 0-3 Eintracht Braunschweig

Aalen went into the game on the back of an impressive win away at VfL Bochum, but they were put under pressure from the whistle by a Braunschweig side brimming with confidence. Dominant in terms of passion and with a territorial supremacy, a goal was coming for Torsten Lieberknecht's men and it duly arrived in the 31st minute when Mirko Boland swept home Ken Reichel's cut-back.

The result was effectively settled before the hour-mark as a quick-fire double put the game out of Aalen's reach. Norman Theuerkauf finished off a flowing move by calmly slotting past Aalen keeper Daniel Bernhardt to make it 2-0 before a Boland cross eluded everyone and nestled in the far corner. As a result, Eintracht are now sitting pretty at the top of the Bundesliga table after four wins on the trot.

FC St. Pauli 2-1 SV Sandhausen

Sandhausen were massive underdogs going into the game and it was Gerd Dais' men who created the game's first chance, as Jan Firßer was denied at point-blank range by a fantastic save from St. Pauli goalkeeper Philipp Tschauner. Gradually, however, the home side began to exert their authority on the game and they should have led at the break, but for some wasteful finishing, in particular from Florian Bruns who shot wildly over.

The second half followed a similar pattern as St. Pauli continued to boss proceedings, and they were rewarded for their persistence with 20 minutes remaining. A corner was headed clear by a Sandhausen defender, but the ball dropped to Fin Bartels, who cracked a superb volley into the corner. Marius Ebbers then secured the points for the home side, poking in to round off a swift counter-attack, before Marco Pischorn headed a late consolation effort for Sandhausen.
