And welcome to my blog!! First of all I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. It is a great honor for me to be helping the Bundesliga covering a little piece of what the Copa America has to offer. It is such a huge event here in America, so it's pretty hard to cover all the information around it (mainly because every game is in a different location around the country... and I cannot manage to be everywhere... Yet!! Lol!).
But still... Being here and being able to stay close to Mexico's national team lets me live an incredible experience. And it is incredible not just because of the games or because of football (which I absolutely adore and it's one of my biggest passions!!) but because I get to feel an amazing atmosphere. I meet great, patriotic and passionate people, I see nervous kids smiling everywhere, so excited about watching their idols play. People from the US that love football and people from South America that travel all the way to the United States to support their flag and their colours! Yes, I know!! I am so lucky!!!
Well, sticking to the point... With this blog I am going to try to show you a little piece of Copa America. The little piece that I can live every day here. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! So follow us and I will definitely try my best to make you feel and live this incredible experiences as if you were here. We just arrived in LA, so pretty cool stuff coming soon!! See you around!
Tuesday 7 June: Lucia gets unique insights in Hollywood!
"Today I went to visit Hollywood Boulevard and there were a lot of people! Most of them were Colombians because they play today..." writes Lucia.
Prior to that, however, she gave us a glimpse of Mexico's team hotel in Los Angeles ahead of El Tri's match against Jamaica in Pasadena Thursday:
"On Hollywood Boulevard you can see Muhammad Ali's star. It's not on the floor like everyone else's. It's the only one in the whole Walk of Fame which is hanging on the wall. He didn't want anyone walking on his star or his name."
"Walking around the Walk of Fame we found some fans: they're not Mexican but Colombian, as Colombia are also playing in LA today."
But even among the sea of yellow shirts, there were also some flying the Bundesliga flag...
