"Hello people!!

And welcome to my blog!! First of all I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. It is a great honor for me to be helping the Bundesliga covering a little piece of what the Copa America has to offer. It is such a huge event here in America, so it's pretty hard to cover all the information around it (mainly because every game is in a different location around the country... and I cannot manage to be everywhere... Yet!! Lol!).

But still... Being here and being able to stay close to Mexico's national team lets me live an incredible experience. And it is incredible not just because of the games or because of football (which I absolutely adore and it's one of my biggest passions!!) but because I get to feel an amazing atmosphere. I meet great, patriotic and passionate people, I see nervous kids smiling everywhere, so excited about watching their idols play. People from the US that love football and people from South America that travel all the way to the United States to support their flag and their colours! Yes, I know!! I am so lucky!!!

Well, sticking to the point... With this blog I am going to try to show you a little piece of Copa America. The little piece that I can live every day here. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! So follow us and I will definitely try my best to make you feel and live this incredible experiences as if you were here. We just arrived in LA, so pretty cool stuff coming soon!! See you around!

Saturday 11 June - Lucia helps a fan meet his idol

Lucia came to the aid of a talented Chicharito fan, sneaking him into the Mexico team hotel to give the Bayer 04 Leverkusen star a unique present. Here's what Lucia had to say…

"We all admire someone. Somebody close or someone we know. Someone we don't know personally but who we follow closely. Generally we find ourselves a role model and try to imitate them or use them as a source of inspiration. That happens a lot in football and most of the time the person we admire has absolutely no idea what they mean to us. But, sometimes they do… and are aware of it every day.

"A few days ago we met Jiovanny Lopez. He's a 24-year-old Mexican living in Los Angeles and he's a genuine artist. We already knew who he was but for me it was the first time I met him in person. We followed him on instagram and Javier had already met him once. Jiovanny's excellent at drawing and we'd said so to each other on more than one occasion.

"I was able to meet him personally in Los Angeles, after he waited for more than 11 hours to see if he could bump into Javier at the team's hotel. It was the second time Jio met 'Chicharito' – the first time he suffered an asthma attack due after being overcome with nerves. Incredible, but true. These things happen, sometimes emotions or nerves get the better of us. This time, though, everything went well.

Jio had one objective: to ask 'Chicharito' to sign one of his excellent drawings and to give him a smaller copy as a present. It was a fantastic idea, because it will have to fit in a suitcase when we go back to Europe!

Mission accomplished!"
