"Hello people!!

And welcome to my blog!! First of all I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. It is a great honor for me to be helping the Bundesliga covering a little piece of what the Copa America has to offer. It is such a huge event here in America, so it's pretty hard to cover all the information around it (mainly because every game is in a different location around the country... and I cannot manage to be everywhere... Yet!! Lol!).

But still... Being here and being able to stay close to Mexico's national team lets me live an incredible experience. And it is incredible not just because of the games or because of football (which I absolutely adore and it's one of my biggest passions!!) but because I get to feel an amazing atmosphere. I meet great, patriotic and passionate people, I see nervous kids smiling everywhere, so excited about watching their idols play. People from the US that love football and people from South America that travel all the way to the United States to support their flag and their colours! Yes, I know!! I am so lucky!!!

Well, sticking to the point... With this blog I am going to try to show you a little piece of Copa America. The little piece that I can live every day here. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! So follow us and I will definitely try my best to make you feel and live this incredible experiences as if you were here. We just arrived in LA, so pretty cool stuff coming soon!! See you around!

Friday 17 June - Chicharito exclusive interview

Lucia: So hello Chicha, how are you doing?

Chicharito: I'm very good thank you, and you?

Lucia: Good! I'm going to ask you about tomorrow's match against Chile. How do you think it's going to be?

Chicharito: I think it's going to be a tough match, the same as our last three matches that we played against Uruguay, Jamaica and Venezuela. Tough matches. We played a friendly match before the start of this Copa America Centenario so I think both teams know a little bit more about each other. It's going to be a very tough match so hopefully Mexico can win and then we'll go through to the semi-finals.

Lucia: You're going to play against your team-mate in Germany at Leverkusen, Charles Aranguiz. What do you think about that?

Chicharito: For me he's an unbelievable player because he's a box-to-box player. He's a very complete type of midfielder because he can defend, he can take the ball out, he can create some chances, he can score goals – like you saw in the Bundesliga in the last matches. He can do almost everything, so I think he's a very good player for the Chile team, but hopefully we can make him and the other players not have their best match and we can get the victory.

Lucia: And not only two Bundesliga players but three: you're going to play against Arturo Vidal as well…

Chicharito: Yes, that's right. I think he's one of the best midfielders in the world. That's the only adjective I can tell you. Those words can't express how good a player he is. He plays in one of the best teams in the world - FC Bayern München - so those two players that we've spoken about are very important for them because they are the balance for their team, for Chile. Both can score goals, both can create chances and both can defend as well. And they have a lot of stamina. They run for 90 minutes, like almost their whole team, so I think it's going to be a very difficult match but also a very good match to watch - like a final. Chile fans and Mexican fans are going to watch a very good match between us.

Lucia: Good luck tomorrow!

Chicharito: Thank you very much.
