The Bundesliga will name its Fair Play of the Season Award, presented by Milka, for the first time in its history at the end of the 2021/22 campaign, celebrating the league's best sporting moments of the year.
Humanity and solidarity, team spirit and fair play are all values that the Bundesliga stands for and the league is already presenting weekly fair play moments that will help shape the contenders for the inaugural Fair Play of the Season Award.
Bayern Munich and Germany legend Philipp Lahm - a model professional and a man closely associated with fair play during his glorious playing career - will draw up the initial list of finalists before fans will be given the chance to vote for their favourite.
"It should be appreciated when someone behaves fairly on the pitch, but fair play is just as important in our whole society," said Lahm.
"It's important that players are honoured who have achieved something - something positive for our society and for sport."
Once Lahm has drawn up his list of contenders, the fans' vote will account for 40 percent of the final decision, alongside 30 percent each from a group of leading Bundesliga experts and representatives from all 18 top-flight clubs.
