Bayern Munich sign Tanguy Nianzou from Paris Saint-Germain
Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Tanguy Nianzou from Paris Saint-Germain, with the France U18 defender signing a four-year contract at the Allianz Arena.
Nianzou only turned 18 earlier in June, but he has already featured in 13 games in all competitions for PSG. The club's youngest UEFA Champions League debutant at 17 years, six months and five days old, Kouassi also helped the French champions past Borussia Dortmund in the last 16.
“We’re very happy to bring Tanguy Nianzou Kouassi to Bayern. In our eyes, he’s one of the greatest prospects in Europe,” said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. “His best position is at centre-back but can play in a number of positions. We’re sure he’ll have a great career with us and is a real reinforcement.”
“I’m really happy to be able to play for Bayern. It’s a great club full of tradition,” added Nianzou. “I really hope to break through here and make a lot of appearances. I’ll work hard for that.”
Nominally a centre-back who can also anchor the midfield, Nianzou joins a considerable French contingent in Bavaria, with Kingsley Coman, Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez, Corentin Tolisso and Michael Cuisance on Bayern's books already.
