Holtmann pulls one back!
The home side have something to cheer about again as Holtmann scores with a well-placed shot from 20 metres into the bottom right corner. It's now only 1-3 and the stadium is erupting. It's Holtmann's second goal of the season, but ultimately it's only a consolation.
82'
Brought down
Nebel can only be stopped by a foul just outside the penalty area. Another excellent free-kick opportunity for Amiri.
81'
Chances for both sides
First Horn prevents the score from becoming 0-4 at his near post, then Rieß makes a confident save at the other end after a shot from Masouras.
78'
Burkardt flying high
That was Burkardt's 17th goal of the season, which is a new Mainz record. This goal also makes Burkardt the top German goal scorer in the Bundesliga, ahead of Gladbach's Tim Kleindienst.
75'
Goosebumps in Bochum
In Berlin, Heidenheim increase their lead to 3-0. In fifteen minutes, Bochum's relegation will be sealed. The fans don't care; they sing their club forward in a rousing atmosphere!

Burkardt!
The visitors extend their lead to 3–0! Around 20 metres in front of goal, Burkhardt receives the ball and has time to pick his spot with his right foot. The striker fires a powerful shot into the bottom left corner. Horn has no chance. Is that it for the match? And for Bochum's survival hopes?

Full support
The Bochum crowd has a keen sense of the situation and, for the most part, has been singing passionately for their team since Mwene made it 2-0.
57'
Goal maker
Jae-sung Lee provided his sixth assist of the season, extending his personal best for a single season. Only Anthony Caci has provided more assists for Mainz (seven).
56'
Two goals in Berlin
And as if the 0-2 scoreline wasn't bitter enough for Bochum, Heidenheim also just scored, making it 2-0 against Union Berlin. Bochum need a miracle to avoid relegation today. Haberer pulls one back to make it 1-2 in Berlin, just 120 seconds after Heidenheim's second goal.
53'
Mwene makes it 2-0
Burkardt's clever back-heel from a throw-in releases Lee on the edge of the area, catching out the Bochum rear-guard. He picks out the un-marked Mwene, who takes his time before firing past Horn with applomb. Bochum started the half well but now find themselves twp goals down. Can they come back from this?
51'
Corner for Mainz
The next corner for Mainz flies into the Bochum penalty area, but Burkhardt can't get a proper touch on the ball. Goal-kick.
50'
Anything is possible!
The last time Bochum were behind at half-time - back on Matchday 25 of the current campaign - they came back in the second term and beat Bayern 3-2.
49'
Horn to the resuce!
Bochum struggle to play out of defence and Wittek/s pass is snaffled up by Nebel, who fires. But Horn drops smartly to his left and steers it around the post.
47'
Holtmann has a crack!
After finding space on the lef, Holtmann uses his pace to get into a shooting position and testing Rieß, who get to his near post smartly and parries for a corner, which comes to nothing.
46'
We're back!
How will Bochum react to Amiri's goal with the last kick of the first half? As it stands - in this match and others - Bochum will be relegated at the end of this match.

Sano blocks Burkhardt!
The visitors squander a good chance when Sano gets in the way of Burkhardt's shot from 16 metres out. The ball even rebounds back to the Gewrmany man before being blocked for a corner. However, the corner comes to nothing. There are two minutes left until half-time.
41'
Dominant
The visitors are currently pinning Bochum back in and around their own penalty area. Burkhardt, Nebel and Amiri are passing the ball around nicely. However, there is no danger because Sano loses possession and is then blocked by Wittek.
39'
Sloppy
Bochum's play is hectic and often goes awry. This is clearly reflected in the passing statistics: Bochum have completed only 65 percent of their passes to teammates, while the visitors have achieved a success rate of 80 percent.
37'
What a pass!
Nebel passes the ball between two opponents, sending it into the penalty area for Burkhardt. However, the Germany striker is caught off guard by this sweet pass and is unable to control the ball. There would have been plenty of space for Burkhardt to work an opportunity.
35'
Ordets doing well
The Bochum centre-back prevents a dangerous cross in his own penalty area thanks toexcellent positioning. A top-notch performance from the Ukrainian so far.
33'
Nebel has a crack
Nebel receives a back pass from da Costa on the right edge of the penalty area and shoots first time with his righ, but the ball buzzes just over Horn's goal.
32'
No chance
Amiri is played in nicely on the left, but then has no chance in a duel with Oermann and Sissoko and loses the ball.
30'
Bochum pressing
The hosts are working well around the Mainz penalty area and have been in control of the game for around five minutes. Mainz are sitting deep and waiting to counterattack.
28'
Over the bar
Masouras heads a cross from the right side of the box well over the goal.
27'
Kiel take the lead
Holstein Kiel are also putting additional pressure on Bochum. The Storks are leading 1-0 against Freiburg.
25'
Into the stands
After Horn punches away a corner, Sano tries his luck from distance, but his attempt flies well over the goal.
23'
Almost an own-goal!
Bochum have the first really big chance of the game. During an attack, a cross is misplaced, but Bell saves the day by almost knocking the ball into his own net. The ball narrowly misses the crossbar!

Wittek's corner flies almost untouched through the five-metre box. Boadu can't control the ball at the far post and Mainz clear.
18'
Bochum yet to fire
The home side are still waiting for their first shot on goal in this match, but they have now been awarded a corner.
15'
Bad news for Bochum
Bochum fans are likely to be watching the match in Berlin with concern, where Heidenheim have just taken the lead. A win for Heidenheim would make it impossible for Bochum to reach the relegation play-off spot.
11'
Horn reacts well
Horn anticipates a long ball to Burkardt and comes 25 metres out of his goal in time to clear the ball for a corner.
9'
Ordets off the line!
Mwene has time in the area to line up his shot and looks to curl one into the top corner at the far post. Horn is well beaten but Ordets is on hand to head clear off the line. Heroic!
7'
On the wings
Nebel and Mwene try to build up pressure on the wings, but Bochum's defence remains solid so far.
5'
Up and down
Both teams are investing a lot in the opening minutes and the game is going back and forth. There is a lot of pace and emotion in the game, with Bochum fighting to stay in the Bundesliga.
3'
First chance
The home side also have the first chance of the match. Boadu gets his toe to a long ball into the penalty area, but Rieß in the visitors' goal is able to collect without issue.
2'
Horn saves!
The Bochum keeper is immediately called into action when a Mainz attack arrives through Burkardt. The German international's shot is deflected and Horn has to dive low to his near post to tip the ball away for a corner.

Permutations
Bochum can now finish no higher than 16th, and if they lose here, they will be automatically relegated. A draw would only keep them in with a chance if Heidenheim lose to Union Berlin. A victory for Heidenheim, meanwhile, will see Bochum drop down to the second tier regardless of how they get on. Mainz, on the other hand, will no longer be able to qualify for a top-six spot if they fail to win and RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund beat Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen respectively. Victories for those two, as well as at least a draw for Freiburg against Holstein Kiel, would also end Mainz's hopes if they only gain a point here.

Bad timing
Winless in their last seven, Mainz have chosen the wrong time to stumble, nevertheless, despite their poor form they remain in the conversation for fourth place, a testament to the season that Bo Henriksen's side have had.

Watch: Mainz and Eintracht Frankfurt's Champions League dreams
Win at all costs
Seventh-placed Mainz currently sit two points off the European places with two matches remaining and can't afford to drop many more points between now and the end of the season. At least one more win will surely be required if they are to reach the promised land.
Unenviable club
Only Nuremberg (9), Arminia Bielefeld (8), Cologne and Hertha Berlin (both 7) have been relegated from the Bundesliga more times than Bochum (6). Dieter Hecking's side will go joint-third for top-flight demotions, should results go against them on Matchday 33.
Do or die for Bochum
Bochum must at least match 17th-place Holstein Kiel's result and better 16th-place Heidenheim's on Matchday 33 to avoid being relegated from the Bundesliga. Failure to do so on either front will result in their seventh demotion from Germany's top tier.
