A ball over the top finds Noah Weißhaupt in the Kiel box. He strikes it on the half-volley, forcing a great save out of Thomas Dähne. Geschwill doesn't head it clear, though, allowing Weißhaupt another chance. The forward lifts it over the keeper and Geschwill, in trying to clear the ball off his line, just about puts it in his own net. It's not immediately obvious, but goal-line technology confirms it crossed the line!

St. Pauli's no. 8 crosses towards the back post from a free-kick. It's headed down but strikes Van der Heyden on the back of the leg before Kiel scramble it behind for a corner. Smith takes again, but nothing comes of it this time.

The free-kick given after Schulz's foul finds Irvine at the far post, who tries to squeeze a shot away from a tight angle, but sends it just wide.

It's a St. Pauli player's turn to pick up a yellow card, as Wahl pulls back Bernhardsson to prevent a promising Kiel counter-attack.

The defender limps off injured following the Bernhardsson chance and is replaced by Van der Heyden.

Another long throw troubles the Kiel defence. The loose ball pops up for Wahl, who has a pop, but his effort is well blocked.

Blessin opts to change his front three at the hour-mark, bringing off Afolayan for Weißhaupt.

The English winger drives from deep very directly, before opting to shoot from outside the box. His low shot is a powerful one, but it's not placed far enough into the corner to trouble Thomas Dähne.

A long throw from Treu bounces around the box before falling kindly to Sinani. The forward takes a touch before letting fly, but there's no way through the sea of legs ahead of him. There was more room for him had he taken that first-time...

Guilavogui is released with a ball over the top. The Pauli forward bears down on goal, but the assistant's flag had been raised for offside.

The English winger picks up a yellow card shortly after the restart for catching the newly-introduced Porath in the face with an elbow. The subsitute stayed down, but is now back to his feet and fine to continue.

The ball seemingly strikes Smith on the arm from close range inside the Pauli box and the Kiel players scream for a penalty. The referee correctly dismisses the protest, however, allowing play to continue.

The Pauli defender picks up the first yellow card of the game, after pulling Machino back and preventing a counter-attack for Kiel.

Treu puts a long throw into the box from the left. Rosenboom heads it clear initially, but Saad pounces on the second ball, floating a cross back into the middle. Afolayan challenges Dähne, causing the goalkeeper to spill the cross. Sinani is quickest to react, smashing the loose ball home into an empty net! After a lengthy check with both Afolayan and Dähne down after the challenge, the check is cleared and the goal stands.

The Tunisian shows off his skillset as he brings down a long ball over the top with the outside of his boot, beating two Kiel defenders. Without support, he goes alone, his effort from range being deflected behind for a corner. Kiel won the first header from the subsequent set-piece, but Pauli rework it, finding Saad at the edge of the box, who lets fly again. This time, it flies over the bar.

The wing-back retrieves an overhit cross from Irvine, before driving at Becker, pulling out a couple stepovers and letting fly at the near post. It's well hit, but Dähne was behind that all the way, making a comfortable save.

Bernhardsson turns his man in the midfield and looks to launch a counter-attack for Kiel, but Pauli centre-back Dźwigała rushes in with a rash challenge, leaving the referee with no choice but to blow for a foul.

Saliakas launches the ball into the box from the right touchline, but again, Kiel are first to the ball to clear.

The wing-back gets high up the left flank and is brought down by Becker for a free-kick from a dangerous position. Smith takes, whipping a low cross into the middle, but Remberg clears it away at the near post. Pauli manage to rework it, culminating in a Nemeth header, but it's straight at Dähne.

Ivezić tracks a good run from Sinani in behind. His challenge on the Pauli forward, earns a corner for the visitors. It's swung in from the right, but there are no takers for the boys in brown in the middle.
