Surely that settles it! Freiburg patiently build up from the back, looking for openings. The ball is eventually shuffled down the right flank, where Dōan has space to cross. He chips an inch-perfect ball across the area and onto the onrushing head of Manzambi, who directs his header into the net. Thoroughly deserved for the visitors.

Rosenfelder carries the ball out of defence, evades two challenges and powers into Gladbach's half. He pushes the ball by another defender and then bursts past the last man and races towards goal. He's struggling by the time he reaches it though and is caught by the defender. Had he made it through and scored, it might have been an all-time great goal.

Gladbach are really struggling to keep hold of the ball as Freiburg's high press consistently does a number on them. Red attacks coming in waves at the moment.

Dōan steals the ball on the halfway line and races towards goal, he slips a neat pass down the line to Kübler, who crosses from the right of the Gladbach box. It's dangerous but Itakura gets back to make a brilliant headed intervention to clear.

Günter whips in a searching cross from deep. Adamu gets up to win the header but fouls his marker inside the box.

Freiburg win possession back high on the right. Grifo waltzes towards the area and slips through Adamu, who loses his marker and lets fly from a tight angle. Pereira Cardoso gets down low to stop it creeping inside the left post.

Freiburg dominate possession in the early stages of the second half, though with little in the way of penetration.

The Japanese playmaker cuts inside from the right wing and feeds the ball to Eggestein, with his back to goal inside the Gladbach box. The midfielder manages to keep hold of the ball before feeding it back to Dōan, on the edge of the area now. He smacks a low shot at the right post but it sails just wide.

A neat pass through the lines finds Grifo with space to turn on the edge of the Gladbach box. He feeds it wide-right to Kübler, who smashes a shot towards the near post. The net ripples and the away fans go bananas for a moment... only before realising the ball actually struck the outside of the net. Goal kick.

Osterhage collects in the inside-right channel and looks to curl a cross towards the back post, but it sails over everyone and out for a goal kick.

Well, that didn't take long! Just two minutes after going behind, the visitors draw level. Kübler finds space to cross from the right flank and Osterhage bursts into the box to plant a header down into the ground and past Pereira Cardoso, who gets a hand to it but can't keep it out. Game on.
