Full-time: Bochum 1-3 Eintracht Frankfurt

Chasing a two-goal deficit, Bochum didn't threaten as they would have hoped to in the opening stages of the second-half. They eventually upped the ante and found a goal through Holtmann, but were consistently putting out Frankfurt counter-attacks. The visitors eventually made one count, striking the final blow in the last minute of additional time.

Frankfurt fresh from European success

Despite the fact that they've had consecutive losses in their last three league games, Frankfurt come into this game full of confidence and motivation. Having beaten Ajax over two legs in the Europa League, and with Mainz drawing against Freiburg on Saturday, the Eagles are well placed to gain serious ground on third place.

Relegation race heating up

With St. Pauli winning at Hoffenheim yesterday, Bochum are five points away from safety as things stand, and face a Frankfurt side who come into this fixture on the back of a Europa League round of 16 win against Ajax.

Dieter Hecking on facing Eintracht

"We have to put in a good performance against Frankfurt and be clear about our processes. I'm looking forward to this game against one of the strongest teams in the league. We'll do everything we can to make life as difficult as possible for them."

Dino Toppmöller on facing Bochum

"[Thursday's] game [against Ajax] is already history. My focus is now entirely on Bochum. They're a completely different opponent—a team that has the wind in their sails following their win at Bayern Munich. This will be a very competitive match. We have all the resources to succeed there in Bochum. We'll definitely rotate our players to bring freshness back to the pitch as we know it's going to be a very intense game."

Great escape?

Bochum have turned their season around with a series of impressive results, which have put them in touching distance of safety. They have beaten both Bayern and Dortmund and have picked up draws against Leipzig and Wolfsburg, meaning they are now just two points behind St. Pauli in 15th.

Champions League on the horizon?

Frankfurt are currently fourth, 22 points above 16th placed Bochum. They have lost two on the bounce in the league, however, to Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin.
